You really can just leave if you feel (especially if it’s been consistently proved) that they don’t value you. You are not bound to anyone. It doesn’t matter how deep the connection, you are not dependent on anyone else to be thankful for your life. You need to realize that this year. Don’t be afraid for them, be afraid that you may allow yourself to stay like this forever. You know you don’t deserve that. You know how loving and kind and funny and good you are.
